Die Überforderung im Bild spiegelt mein Interesse des Dickichts der Pflanzenwelt wider: Es ist für mich das, was passiert, wenn ich ins Gestrüpp schaue und versuche es zu durchblicken oder zu begreifen. Dabei werden Pflanzenformen de- und neu konstruiert, neu angeordnet, überlagert. Lasierte Flächen stehen pastosen gegenüber. Mein Fokus wechselt dabei zwischen Gegenstand und Umraum, die Bedeutsamkeit des Gegenstandes wird aufgebrochen.

The sense of overwhelm in the painting reflects my interest with the dense, tangled world of plant life. It represents what happens when I look intensly into the undergrowth and try to make sense of it. In the painting plant forms are deconstructed and reconstructed, rearranged and overlapped. Glazed areas are set against thicker applications of paint. My focus shifts back and forth between the object and its surrounding space, disrupting the object’s significance.
