*The Wetlands* ist eine fortlaufende Malereiserie imaginärer Mikrokosmen, die von alternativen Naturgesetzen bestimmt werden. Jedes Gemälde kartiert einen Ort innerhalb dieser wachsenden Kosmologie und dokumentiert dessen einzigartige Ökosysteme.

Die Bilder wirken wie multiversale archäologische Puzzles. Die Betrachter rekonstruieren die Zusammenhänge selbst, so wie Archäologen anhand weniger Fragmente die Systeme untergegangener Zivilisationen erschließen. Das Bizarre der *Wetlands* lässt die vermeintliche Normalität unserer eigenen Welt hinterfragen: Was uns selbstverständlich erscheint, ist nur eine mögliche Form des Daseins; und ist letztendlich ebenso fragil wie die Welten von *Wetlands*.

*The Wetlands* is an ongoing series of paintings depicting imaginary microcosms governed by alternative laws of nature. Each painting charts a location within this expanding cosmology and documents its unique ecosystems.

The paintings resemble multiversal archaeological puzzles. Viewers reconstruct the connections themselves, just as archaeologists piece together the systems of lost civilisations from a few fragments. The bizarre nature of *The Wetlands* challenges the supposed normality of our own world: what we take for granted is merely one possible form of existence; and is ultimately just as fragile as the worlds of *Wetlands*.
