Ausgangspunkt meiner künstlerischen Praxis ist die Malerei, die Freude an der

malerischen Struktur und die Neugier darauf, welche Stimmungen sie erzeugt. Ein Bild nimmt für mich immer seinen Anfang in der Abstraktion, im Spiel zwischen Resonanz und Dissonanz von Farbklang und Struktur.

Zwar können meine Arbeiten gegenständlich gelesen werden, doch lassen sie immer Raum, sich in der Abstraktion zu verlieren.

Inhaltlich interessieren mich Motive und Situationen, die sowohl als Schutzraum als auch als Bedrohung gelesen werden können. Mich interessiert die Ambivalenz dieser Gegensätze und wie sich ihre Bedeutung je nach Standpunkt der betrachtenden Person verändert.

In der Arbeit Korrelationen geht es genau darum. Es ist unklar, ob man sich vor oder in dem Auto befindet und somit, ob das Auto Bedrohung oder Schutzraum symbolisiert.

Painting is the starting point of my artistic practice. I enjoy working with painterly structures and exploring the moods they can create. For me, a painting always begins with abstraction, with the interplay between harmony and contrast in colour and structure.

Although my works can be read as figurative, they always leave room for the viewer to get lost in abstraction.

I am interested in images and situations that can be understood as both a place of safety and a threat. I explore the tension between these opposites and how their meaning changes depending on the viewer’s point of view.

My work Korrelationen explores this idea. It is unclear whether we are in front of the car or inside it. This also leaves open whether the car represents a threat or a place of safety.
