In der Reihe „Philtres d'amour“ beleuchte ich die Grenze zwischen Begehren, Verführung und Zerstörung. Das Hauptwerk „Alles muss, nichts kann.“ greift die historische Affäre der Gifte am Hof Ludwigs XIV. auf: Damals wurden sogenannte Liebestränke mit Aphrodisiaka, menschlichen und tierischen Körperflüssigkeiten sowie tödlichen Giften angereichert im Streben nach Macht und Leidenschaft. Granatapfel, Belladonna, Spanische Fliege und weitere Bildelemente symbolisieren diese gefährliche Berauschung.

„Fuck Swiping. Try a Love Potion!“ übertr.gt die Sehnsucht nach magischer Verführung in die Gegenwart.

„Cult of Dionysos“ erweitert das Thema um die ekstatischen Ausschweifungen antiker Kultfestspiele.

In the series “Philtres d’amour,” I explore the boundary between desire, seduction, and destruction. The central work, “Alles muss, nichts kann”, draws on the historical Affair of the Poisons at the court of Louis XIV: At that time, so-called love potions were laced with aphrodisiacs, human and animal bodily fluids, and deadly poisons in the pursuit of power and passion. Pomegranate, belladonna, Spanish fly, and other visual elements symbolize this dangerous intoxication.

“Fuck Swiping. Try a Love Potion” transposes the longing for magical seduction into the present.

“Cult of Dionysos” expands on the theme by incorporating the ecstatic excesses of ancient cult festivals.
