Während eines dreiwöchigen Roadtrips durch Südostfrankreich entstanden vier Arbeiten direkt vor Ort: Aix, Marseille, Annecy und Châtillon-en-Diois.

​

Am Anfang stand die Neugier, ob und wie schnell sich ein Ort festhalten lässt.

Was folgte, war überraschend leicht. Farben, Licht, Landschaft und Stimmung fanden fast selbstverständlich ihren Weg auf die Leinwand. Das Malen wurde zu einem unmittelbaren Reagieren auf das, was gerade da war.

Die Arbeiten zeigen keine Landschaften im klassischen Sinn. Sie tragen vielmehr etwas von dem Gefühl eines Ortes in sich: seine Farben, seine Energie, seine Ruhe oder Bewegung.

Im Vorbeiziehen erzählt von diesen kurzen Momenten, in denen Wahrnehmung, Gefühl und Malerei zusammenfallen und etwas bleibt, obwohl man längst weitergefahren ist.

During a three-week road trip through southeastern France, four works were created directly on location: Aix, Marseille, Annecy and Châtillon-en-Diois.

​

It began with the curiosity of whether, and how quickly, a place could be captured. What followed felt surprisingly effortless. Colors, light, landscape and atmosphere found their way onto the canvas almost naturally. Painting became an immediate response to whatever was present in that moment.

The works do not depict landscapes in the traditional sense. Instead, they carry something of the feeling of each place: its colors, its energy, its stillness or movement.

Im Vorbeiziehen is about those brief moments in which perception, emotion and painting come together and something remains, even after the journey has already moved on.
